The Formentera Island is a small island but also forms part of the Balearic Islands. The most amusing thing about the island is that you can practically view the sea from any point within it. Just like the rest of the islands, Formentera has many great beaches from where you can have all the sun and sand fun that you need. You will also find lonely bays here most of which come complete with grottos that are incredible.

The climate is very pleasant and friendly considering that it is an island which experiences springtime kind of temperatures throughout the year. It is therefore a wonderful holiday resort most of the year. The vegetation here is rich and made of palms and pines and the island is truly a paradise when it comes to the relaxed and quiet ambience. Apart from the beautiful beaches, this island has lots of other interesting places and things to be enjoyed by visitors coming here.

La Savina: this is the island’s only port. The most outstanding feature within the port is the whitewashed typical houses. It definitely also offers a great sea view for all coming here.

Las Salinas: if you are looking for unique beauty and breathtaking landscapes, then this is the place to be. It is the islands narrowest part but a very impressive one for that matter. San Francisco Javier is found on the interior part of the island and has white house concentration around fortificated church. It is also worth checking out.

San Fernando: this is an area which has in the middle of huge pine woods ending at Es Pujols beach. The main features here are the wonderful beaches and a natural port all of which are worth checking out and spending some fun time in while on holiday here

El Mirador: it is a view point from where outstanding panorama can be enjoyed. It is within La Mola village where you will find Iglesia del Pilar, a very beautiful church villa in san jose. The western part of Formentera Island is mainly untouched and it offers a great exploration avenue.

Despite the size, Formentera does have lots of things to offer to tourists coming here. It is also a wonderful holiday resort within the Balearic Islands group. It is one place that is bound to offer you a holiday experience you will remember for a long time apart from enjoying it to the maximum.
