August 18, 2012
If lounging on the beach, dancing the night away, drinking and dining, endless tours of palaces and museums is not for you; Spain offers some great options for adventure lovers. With its miles of rugged landscape, mountain trails and forests in the Pyrenees, skiing, mountain or quad biking, walking, trekking, hiking, cycling or horse-riding, there's plenty to delight the adventurous heart.
There are special packages available for an adventurous holiday in Spain. If you're a hard-core adventure-lover, with high levels of physical fitness, then you can opt for one of the exciting packages in the Spanish Pyrenees. The itinerary may include a week or more of traveling through the rugged landscape, wonderful climate and exciting activities. A typical package would include:
Starting with a short climb of Pic Maia, the downward journey, walking through the beautiful Andorra mountains with their wildlife, mountain flowers and birds, past the Siscaro Lake takes you to the end of the day. The night can be spent in one of the many resorts in the area and then it's a day of mountain biking along the famous Iron Route, which dates back to the old iron-mining days of the area. The bike trip is supported by vehicular support, in case you feel tired or unable to complete the rather rough route. Other activities include horse-riding, quad biking, ziplining across the tree-tops or canyoning. Climbing the Via Ferrata and white-water rafting along the old smugglers' routes, wind-surfing, kayaking are some other great options. This area is very close to France, so you can combine this adventure with a French holiday too.
If you're holiday villas spain traveling with an adventure loving family, then a holiday in the Barcelona region would be ideal. This would include a picnic trip to Aigues Tortes National Park, a walking trip through the beautiful Catalan landscape and open kayaking which can include children. Kayaking for older kids and paddling for the younger ones can be planned. Canyoning is another activity that kids will enjoy. Cycling and hiking around the lake would be ideal if there are older people in the group. Situated on the banks of the Nogura Pallaresa river, the town of Sort is the main holiday destination for family adventure holidays in Spain. A taste of delicious local produce, fruit, vegetables, spices, wines and meats would be part of the holiday. If young kids are part of your group, they may also enjoy a holiday in the Picos de Europa area of northern Spain, where you can join other families for short walks and trips through this region with its beautiful beaches and rugged coastline. For older teenagers, a holiday in Almunecar would combine adventure, shopping, music, entertainment and great food.
Spain offers numerous opportunities and Tossa de Mar lets you select the most beautiful destinations in Spain. Enjoy your beautiful villa with private pool in Spain.
